Kate 365 – 4 months

It’s almost a week late, but Kate is four months old now! She’s grown so much: she weighs about 18 pounds and Story can walk right underneath her. We don’t have to keep an eye on her constantly for fear that she’ll eat the house any more, and I think it’s safe to say that she’s completely housetrained (knock on wood!). She’s still painfully shy around strangers, but sooo affectionate at home. As far as training goes, we’ve been working hardest on the ‘stay’ command lately. Currently I can stroll around the yard or disappear from sight for up to 15 seconds and she won’t budge. Yesterday I spent all afternoon raking up leaves the the front yard and she “helped” me by having a great time pulling sticks and small logs (!) out of the bushes to chew on. She should start losing those sharp little puppy teeth any time now…

Here are Kate and Story cuddled up under the blanket a few nights ago. Kate was obviously fascinated by the noise Matt made to get her attention. Story, on the other hand, was unimpressed.
